Web Design - SNHU

Camp Woofs and Wiggles

Camp Woofs and Wiggles was a multi-page website built for a fictional pet boarding and daycare company, completed as a final project for an SNHU HTML and CSS course. The class delivered a real-style client brief: brand voice, services list, hours, contact details, and a narrow window for interpretation. From that one brief, we each had to design, structure, and code the site from scratch in Visual Studio Code.

Most of the final projects probably looked similar - the brief was tight, the deliverables were specific, and the visual range stayed inside a clear lane. But this one mattered to me. It was largely a second-time-around situation with coding, and watching the pages render exactly the way I had structured them was a quiet win I had been waiting on for a while. The site itself is small. The personal milestone behind it isn't.

Camp Woofs and Wiggles - Home Page

The home page sets the tone immediately - warm sandy tones, an oversized welcome, and a mission statement that leads with the brand's actual promise rather than a stock tagline. The logo sits in the top left, the navigation runs across in a clean, restrained list.

No carousel, no animated hero, no distracting micro-interactions. Just the kind of clarity a small-business pet camp site would actually need: who they are, what they do, and the warmth that comes through in the writing before the visitor ever scrolls.

The services page reads as utility, not marketing. Day camp activities and overnight details split into two clean columns, with a center photograph anchoring the page and giving the eye somewhere to land between the lists.

Pricing sits in the prominent position it actually deserves. Vaccination notes and temperament-check qualifications are grouped below in lighter weight so they don't compete with the headline information. The hierarchy mirrors how a real customer would scan the page: what do you offer, what does it cost, what do I need to know before I book?

Camp Woofs and Wiggles - About Page

The About page lets photographs do the heavier emotional lifting - a dog at rest on a bed, a dog at play in a party hat, both framing the company bio rather than competing with it. Less marketing copy, more trust built visually. The kind of imagery a parent dropping their dog off would actually want to see.

Camp Woofs and Wiggles - Footer Info Bar

The footer carries everything a visitor actually needs to reach the business - address, phone number, operating hours, social icons. Same warm sandy band, consistent typography, no surprises. It does its job and gets out of the way. Repeated across every page, it gives the site a steady anchor no matter where the visitor lands.

A single rounded, friendly display face carries the brand voice across the entire site - headings, navigation, mission statement, footer. It's the kind of type that smiles before you read it. Body text and notes sit in a clean sans-serif for legibility, with the brand display reserved for moments that need warmth: the welcome, the rate callout, the company name.

Restraint matters here. A small business website does not need three typefaces and four weights; it needs one strong personality and a workhorse to support it.
